Wayanad Tours

Located among the mountains of Western Ghat, Wayanad, the green paradise, is blessed with clean and pristine beaches, enchanting and hypnotizing and great history and culture. The verdant hills of the town are parallel to Mudumalai of Tamilnadu and Bandipur of Karnataka, thus, attracts tourist across the world. The district is home to the mesmerizing legends, ancient ruins, mysterious mountain caves, aborigine tribes, hidden treasure, tree house, jungle trails and exotic wildlife.

Places of Interest-

Chembra Peak- Situated at an altitude of 2100 meters, Chembra is considered as the highest peak in Wayanad and a perfect place for adventure tourist. From the top of the hill you can explore the scenic beauty of Wayanad town. The surrounding area of the place provides tourist varieties of option for excursion such as trekking, camping, photography and lots more.

Edakkal Caves- located just 12 km from Sulthan Bathery, Wayanad, three caves of Edakkal lies at a height of 1000 meters. The New Stone Age pictorial writings on the walls of caves tell the story of ancient civilization that flourished in the regions during pre historic times. Further you can reach Ambukuthi Hill, near Ambalavayal where you can find fascinating Neolithic cave site. Etchings found on the walls of these caves have caught attention of worldwide historians and archeologists.

Wayanad Wildlife sanctuary, Mathunga- the sanctuary is a part of protected area network of Nagarhole and Bandipur of Karnataka, established in 1973. It is blessed with rich flora and fauna in which Pachyderms, jungle cats, panthers, civet cats, monkeys, wild dogs, deers, bisons, spotted deers, peacock, owls, jungle fowls, woodpeckers etc are important. The park is declared as protected area for Elephants.

Jain Temple- It is one of the most visited Jain temples in gods own country. The temple is commonly known as Tippus fort, because it is believed that the Sultan Tippu has used this fort as battery (arms store). According to legend, it is built in 13th century and remained a mysterious site for historians and archeologists.

Sentinal Rock Waterfall- located just 22 km from Kalpetta, Wayanad; it is one the major destination for tourist. The water falls from the height of 200 meters and an ideal place for mountaineering. You can also enjoy mesmerizing sight seeing of the surrounding.

Apart from these attractions, the Wayanad offers other most enchanting visiting places such as Glass Temple, Varambetta Mosque, Banasura Sagar Project, Kanthanpura Waterfall, Muniyarras etc.
